Exam Schedule
For Spring 2007

Student Information

Undergraduate students having three final examinations that begin and end within a 24-hour time period (any contiguous combination of the 9 AM, 2 PM, and 7 PM exam times) or two final examinations during the same exam period may petition to have one exam chanaged to another date/time. If one of the exams under consideration is a block exam, the block exam may not be the exam that is changed.

Print and complete the "Petition to Change Final Examination Schedule". Take the form to the office of your academic dean no later than three weeks prior to the last day of classes. Your dean will confirm the conflict, sign the form, and return it to you. You will then take the form to either the Office of the University Registrar, Suite 202, 705 Broad Street, or the Student Service Center, 101 Allen Building. The Office of the University Registrar will confirm that the exam is being given in each of the courses you listed on the form and then contact the instructor of the exam that you have requested to be re-scheduled. The Office of the University Registrar will contact you via email when the instructor has responded to the request. After receiving that email from the Office of the University Registrar, you will contact the instructor to finalize the arrangement for rescheduling the exam.

Any student wishing to petition for relief from unauthorized changes in his/her examination schedule should contact Ms. Peggy Lankford, Senior Assistant Registrar, 705 Broad Street, phone 684-2813.

Undergraduate reading days are April 26 – 29, and May 2, 2007 (from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.).

Faculty Information

In courses in which final examinations are not scheduled, an exam that substitutes for a final examination may not be given in the last week of classes. Hourly tests may be given in the last week of classes, whether or not a final examination is administered during the exam period. Examinations in precepts should be given during the last class meeting. Take Home examinations are due at the exam time designated for the day and period at which the class regularly meets. Examinations in classes which meet one day per week are scheduled according to the schedule below, according to the meeting day and start time of the one day per week class. Examinations in classes which meet two or more periods in one day, or in combination sequence (e.g. Mon/Wed, Mon/Fri, Tues/Thurs), are scheduled according to the first lecture period. No activities can be scheduled during official reading periods.

NO CHANGE IS TO BE MADE IN THE EXAMINATION SCHEDULE WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE UNIVERSITY SCHEDULE COMMITTEE.

All final grades for graduating students must be submitted within 24 hours of the final exam.
